EVO helmets are the new wave of helmets for pilots as they allow for better comfort and noise reduction.  These flight helmets are designed to take a punch as they have exceeded a breaking test of 525 lbs.

One of the most important aspects of keeping up with these helmets is the maintenance involved.  Besides checking for cracks and other abnormalities, as a pilot, you should also investigate your new cutting-edge helmet for other things.

The new wave of helmets is here and made in the USA. They're durable and very lightweight. AVI EVO Helmets carry these helmets and are ready to be shipped directly to you.

Maintenance

Maintenance is important for any product if you are trying to increase the longevity of it.  EVO helmets are no different, as they need to be maintained on a regular basis. Wouldn't you do this for something that could potentially save your life one day?

Maintenance:

Cleaning

Cleaning EVO helmets is as easy as getting a cloth and wiping the interior down. You can use a mild polish, but it's best to ask the manufacturer for their suggestions.

The exterior may also need to be cleaned as well. After each use, the build-up of sweat and other things can hinder a pilot's experience. This can include the visor becoming smudged and loose parts inside of the helmet that will make the experience less than desirable.

A Little TLC Goes a Long Way

Keeping EVO helmets clean is incredibly important but often overlooked. A pilot's flight helmet gathers dust and dirt after each use. That's why it's a good idea to regularly clean your helmet, including the shell and exterior. A simple and effective method is to use a damp cloth to wipe away any grime or dust that may have accumulated.  Not only does this help keep a helmet looking great, but it can also improve its performance.

Inspections

EVO helmets should be inspected before each flight. This doesn't mean briefly looking over them and going straight into flight.  Flight helmets should be carefully looked over hours before use. That way, pilots are able to have parts replaced or repaired if necessary.  Pilots need to depend on their helmets to protect and offer the ability to communicate with those around them, including the ground crew.

Replace Worn and Damaged Parts

Loose parts are typical in EVO helmets. This is not due to their construction but rather how many times they get used.  If properly maintained, flight helmets should last for well over a decade. This makes them a cost-effective investment for pilots where quality should always be the case.

Parts that generally need to be replaced:

Pilots should always be on the lookout for any worn or damaged parts, especially if the flight helmet has taken a hit.

Reliability

Taking good care of EVO helmets is essential for all pilots, and if one doesn't pay attention to the finer details, it can have negative consequences.  Owning a flight helmet that keeps a pilot safe while in the cockpit should be taken seriously because improper maintenance could result in costly repairs or even complete replacement. Reliability is a must for these flight helmets as they should always work for the pilot and not against them.

Chin Straps

The chin straps on EVO helmets are not something that a pilot takes seriously until they need it to work in an emergency.  Why even wear a chinstrap has been an argument amongst pilots for a while now. The short answer is that they are required and help keep the flight helmet on.  Stabilization is important when that is high up in the air. If a pilot were to make a sudden turn or go down (worst case scenario), the chin strap secures the head  on impact.
