The EVO Series

The EVO 052 is a single lens helmet with the lenses being internal for a low profile helmet.  The EVO 152 is perfect for the Pilot or Crew member that wants a lightweight helmet but still needing a visor cover for NVG operations. The EVO 152 is also a single-lens version but the lenses are mounted on the outside of the shell. Pilots and crew who wear large frame prescription glasses are recommended the EVO 152. Not sure about the EVO 052 or 152? Try the EVO 252! Pilots and crew members can also opt for the EVO 252. This helmet offers both internal and external lenses and is by far the most popular helmet sold. We also offer the Legacy HPH. This helmet design goes back 30 years and is made by several companies and sold as the SPH-5 by Gentex and their distributors. Our version is an improved design with many upgrades and accessories generally not offered by other companies. All of the legacy HPH helmets we sell here at Evolution Helmets are made with all new parts, not surplus parts as is the case with other companies. In addition, we offer the BOSE A20.

Custom Flight Helmets

Require something more specific? Custom Flight helmets can provide an additional head & facial protective safety layer and can aid in hearing protection from loud noises. When selecting a flight helmet, be sure to select a flight helmet designed for the appropriate aircraft you fly, such as a fixed-wing flight helmet for an airplane or a rotary-wing flight helmet for a helicopter. 

Each will be compatible with each type of aircraft’s avionics. Additionally, you’ll want to thoroughly research which safety specification standards the flight helmet has been designed, manufactured, and tested for when you conduct your selection.

Before each flight, inspect the flight helmet for serviceability. When wearing the flight helmet, ensure it is worn correctly, it is secured to the head, and all straps are fastened. While conducting flight operations, an extended flight helmet visor can protect the face during an accident sequence and can also protect the face from a bird strike. It is a good idea to carry a backup headset in the cockpit, just in case the flight helmet’s internal communication system malfunctions or fails.
